Albright Knot
A connection between fishing lines of different diameters or materials, including a backing-to-fly-line connection.

- Fold a bight in the thicker line and pass the thinner line through it.
- Wind the thinner line ten times around its own leg and the doubled thicker line.
- Return the tag through the bight on the same side as it entered; moisten and draw the coils tight.
