Loops
Angler's Loop
Perfection loop
DIFFICULTY ●●○○○
A compact fixed loop that forms perfectly in line with the standing part — no offset kink. Tied by fly anglers in leader butts, and one of the few knots that truly holds in bungee cord.
See it tied step-by-step ↗Why it earns its place
That dead-straight alignment is why fly lines cast cleanly through it, and its grip on slippery elastic cord is nearly unique among loop knots.
Where it fails
It jams under real load — fine in fishing line you would cut anyway, a nuisance in rope you want back. In cordage, prefer the bowline family when untying matters.
