Why it earns its place
How riggers make permanent eyes, close hooks, and keep standing rigging paired. The frapping turns act like a tourniquet, multiplying the grip of every wrap.
Where it fails
A seizing is structural — it may carry real load — so material matters: use proper waxed seizing twine, not string, and haul the fraps as tight as the wraps.
