A modern binding knot — invented by a weaver in 1996 — that merges the constrictor's grip with a doubled, wider band of wraps. Tie two loops, twist into a figure eight, slip over the object.
Why it earns its place
Grips like the constrictor family but with a broader footprint that stays put on shorter, stubbier objects where a single-band binder can roll off the end.
Where it fails
Same family, same commitment: plan on cutting it off rather than untying. It also needs to be slipped over an end, so closed rings are out.
